Visiting Rotarian Scott Campbell from RC Steveston had the opportunity to witness the official visit of District Governor Lyn Stroshin and our Assistant Governor Rick Lewall.  Club Chairs delivered their reports and activities to the gathered Assembly.

The Rotary Club of Richmond increased by 3 more members today, as Drew Antrobus, former member of RC Ottawa Bytown was officially welcomed by DG Lyn.  The world's newest Rotarians Cindy Lau and Julie Chang were also inducted as members and welcomed into Rotary with official hugs from DG Lyn.  Drew was introduced by Debbie, Cindy was introduced by Dean and Julie was introduced by Daphne.

DG Lyn then talked about Rotary, the upcoming District Conference and the impressive International Convention.  She related her recent trip in Ethiopia for a National Immunization Day and another emotional experience with Adolescent Maternal Mortality due to Fistula.  She went on to describe how Rotary is at the forefront in the fight against Polio and how Rotarians have come to the aid of an organization who comfort and care for these terrified and lonely young girls.  The Rotary Foundation does great work in many arenas and Rotarians have an opportunity to help with the upcoming Million Dollar Dinner Jan 9th.  She was in awe with the trust that these needy people have in the name and logo of Rotary.  One can sense from her presentation that she is very motivated and energized by the work of Rotary and through her, we received a very inspirational message of engagement.....Rotary Serving Humanity.
