Support Our member Helge!
Past President Helge Nielsen has been a member of our club since 1966 and now our honorary member. Despite his challenge with Parkinson’s disease, he and his wife Joan are great supporters of our club's event and fundraiser. On Sat September 10, Helge will be participating in the Parkinson's SuperWalk at Minoru Park/Running Track 7191 Granville Ave, registration started at 1:00pm and walk start at 1:30pm. Come and join his team as a walker/wheelchair pusher or make a donation help him meet his goal. (Donate/join team

Happy to see many visitors
The last day of July in the Chinese Lunar Calendar was marked by visiting Rotarians Wilbur Walrond, Frank Lin and Prince Kumar, who joined visitors Julie Cheng and Robert Lu, both guests of Daphne Wu.  President James started lunch late, for which he paid dearly later to the Sgt. At Arms.  However, once underway, we were introduced to and learned more about each of our visitors.  James Kao announced this is the end of the period of ghosts in Chinese culture which bodes better things to come.

Barbara reviewed a few of our club historical highlights for the benefit of our visitors.  Safe travels were extended to Eva and David, who are going on their respective vacations.  Then Harry went to work, reaching into everyone's pockets for loose change, extracting many laughs as the sad and happy dollar stories were told.

Barbara spent a few minutes to review an outline of the planned Chinese New Year Gala fundraiser at the Continental Seafood Restaurant Feb 1st, 2017.  A draft budget and task list was distributed and a call out made to all members for committee participation in planning and executing our next big club venture.

Mark Sep 7th for our next classification talk.  Check our website for up to date information as the speaker will be formalized soon.
