Wed May 11 Classification Talk - get to know your fellow Rotarians
Chak Au joined our club in 2015, his classification is Health Service. He is currently the Program Leader of the Mental Health Promotion and Counseling Team of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority in Richmond. Chak was award the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013 by the Governor General of Canada.
Kenny Chiu joined our club in 2015, his classification is Software Engineering. In 2011, He is currently Senior Software Development Manager at ABB. Kenny was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 and the Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.
President Chris, PE James and Henry and their spouse enjoyed the Whistler District conference immensely. Henry now has a bigger picture of what Rotary does, he is so impressed that he will definitely introduce his friends to join Rotary.
At the conference, the Rotary Club of Richmond was awarded the Presidential Citation for actively working to be a gift to the world and the largest increase in annual membership in District 5040.
Thu May 12, Club Assembly at the Richmond Curling Club, bring your spouse/partner!
Think of it as an annual general meeting. The Board of Directors need direction from the club as to what we want to do. Let's all get better acquainted and put our heads together to make decisions on our upcoming projects.
There are darts and pool table, we might plan some kind of competition for fun, James will confirm.

RI Director Visit
On April 27, we welcomed RI Director Julia Phelps, PDG Gord Dalglish and PDG Ken Wilson. Other visiting guests were Richmond Sunrise Sandra Hass; SOS Children's Village Lois & Gilles Bouchard and Richmond Taxi Shashi Engineer.
Julia's vision and message to us was to be a gift to the world, bring joy and happiness to others that need it the most. President Chris gaves us a review of the Gateway Fundraiser. Sgt-at-Arms, Harry Minci was excellent, he made the afternoon fun and brought laughter to all. Special thanks to Omar and the hilton team for providing another great meal and service. (Read more)
