Wed May 3 - Our Club Plans

plan的圖片搜尋結果 Members, you are invited to this special luncheon as we discuss club plans for remainder of this Rotary year and our new Rotary year 2017-2018.  This discussion has been prompted by the departure of Debbie and Drew as they are working on  a transfer to the Sunset Club.  We need you all aboard for this upcoming meeting as we have some roles to fill to ensure we "Make Good Things Happen".

April  26 Meeting Highlights
Our speaker was Vikki MacKay from the Rotary Club of Burnaby.  She is the Foundation Chair for her club.  Their club has been studying their Club Foundation and have been working to ensure that it follows all CRA protocol.  She explained how The Rotary Foundation and her Club Foundation work in relation to her Rotary Club.  She also explained how matching grants can increase the impact of a club project.  The gravity of keeping the Club and it's own Foundation clearly separated was highlighted in her presentation.  As our Club is currently undergoing a review of our own Club Foundation, Vikki's talk was timely and informative.  Vikki brought a guest along, Nick Liem from RC Lionsgate. It so happens that President James is very familiar with Nick and their paths crossed many years ago.  We enjoyed a very nice chicken lunch at the Marriott.

Rotarians recognize the potential for positive change when young adults develop leadership in community and international service projects. With this goal in mind, the Rotary Club of Richmond has supported several local and international projects focused on youth development. Currently, our club provides leadership and support to The Rotaract Club of Richmond and the Interact Club of Cambie Junior High.  Both clubs engage in a multitude of activities which serve the Richmond community through local projects and bring about awareness of global issues through international projects.
