Oct 26 Meeting Highlights
Visiting Rotarian Scott Campbell brought greetings from the Rotary Club of Steveston.  He transferred to Steveston recently and was a Rotarian in Surrey.  Welcome to Richmond, Scott, hope we can work cooperatively on a project in the future.

President James returned from his successful and enjoyable trip to Taiwan.  He said he was lucky as his trip was sandwiched between two typhoons. James announced that representatives from our club were needed to attend Lions Manor on Oct 27th at 3:00 p.m.  There is going to be a ceremony to acknowledge the contributions of the Rotary Club Richmond Sunset and our Club in providing funds for ceiling chair lifts for the facility.

Please bear in mind future dates, Nov 9th for the Honorary Members luncheon, Nov 16th for the District Governor's visit and Dec 16th for our Christmas Party.

ROTARY ON ICE was another winner! Thank you to volunteers and supporters
$1,150 in proceeds from tickets Rotary sold for that game will go to the campaign to End Polio. With a double matching grant from the Government of Canada and another from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that converts into a contribution of $5,750 towards the $1.5 billion global campaign still needed to erradicate polio completely.

Another big winner was the Boys & Girls Club which received tickets worth almost $1,700 purchased by Rotarians and others so that 94 young people could attend the game at no cost.
