Sep 9 Meeting Highlights
Our close friends PP Otto Rieve and Margaret paid us a visit and a new friend James Kao also dropped in. Otto took us on one of his motorcycle escapades, a trip from Munich to Moscow and back as a participant of a Rotary Motorcycle Fellowship. Otto is a great storyteller, and he did not disappoint us today. New friend James spoke briefly about his business in massage chairs/equipment and about his family.
Chak Au talked about his recent trip to China and of some issues that Richmond council have been recently discussing. He will be back on Sep 30th to talk about two hot topics, mega-houses and a city police force. Be sure to mark your calendars for this upcoming luncheon. We should expect a rather energetic discussion.
President Chris and Keith have pencilled in Nov 20th as a club social night , a night when we will culminate our Push-up Challenge and see what we can raise for End Polio and our own Rotary Club of Richmond Foundation. Our challenge goes out to David, Antonio and Daniel, can you beat Chris and Keith on Nov 20th? Together and cumulatively, how much can we raise?
Around of applause to our Hero Helge
Past President and Honorary member Helge participated in the Parkinson Superwalk last Sat and raised close to $1,600 for research, education and support services. There is still time to donate online here.
