The 54th President of the Rotary Club of Richmond, Chris Browne was installed into office along with his Board of Directors by District Governor Ken Wilson at the President's Dinner held June 25, 2015 at the Hilton Hotel. Dignitaries included DG Ken, his wife Peggy, PDG Penny, PDG Chris, Richmond Sunrise President Christine Brodie, Richmond Rotaract President Maryam Bawa and honorary members Helge Neilsen, Tony Yurkovich and Becky Tsukishima.
The 2014-2015 Board of Directors, Philip Li, Barbara Duggan, Chris Browne, James Hsieh, Juan Burry, David Takahashi and website editor Becky, were acknowledged for their contributions and staunch belief and confidence in backing the efforts to rebuild the Club. This was a challenging year, with a dip in membership and loss of key individuals. Yet the members carried on with their commitments to Interact Club, Rotaract Club, RYLA, Richmond Christmas Fund, McNeely Park playground equipment, ceiling lifts for Lions Manor and the SOS Children's Village Walk/Run.
Adding to the ceremonies this night, DG Ken Wilson officiated over the induction of our newest Rotarian, Antonio Lee and his wife Carol. Antonio was introduced to our club by past member Ken Hui to whom we extend a large thank you. We welcome Antonio with our hand of friendship and look forward to getting to know him and Carol better.
Thanks are also extended to the Hilton Hotel for providing an excellent dinner, to the guests who attended and to the club members showing their support for President Chris. "We are going to have a fun filled year" says President Chris. Watch this website for future events, projects and social functions as we celebrate our 54th year of service in the City of Richmond.
