Join us to hear about the amazing journey of PDG Penny and Chris Offer, they joined a Rotary International team of volunteers from Canada, Switzerland, Australia and the United States to give Polio vaccinations in rural India. This is a great opportunity to bring along a guest to learn more about Rotary's effort to End Polio.
We had the pleasure of two visitors, Eva Sun, guest of James Hsieh and Bernie Allard, visiting Rotarian from Kingston Ontario. Bernie told us a bit about his club and their service projects. Always nice to hear from visiting Rotarians and to learn about all the fine work being accomplished by clubs all over the world. Imagine the cumulative impact from over 33,000 clubs and 1.2 million Rotarians. If all that effort could be measured in dollars, I wonder what those staggering figures might be? This is the second time Eva visited our club, she spoke of how her work in the rice industry has helped her focus her energies in themes around women and agriculture. We have to invite Eva to tell us more as her work certainly sounds compelling.
President Chris encouraged members to support the upcoming Parkinson SuperWalk in recognition of our PP Helge. Chris also passed along information from Nancy Yurkovich on an upcoming event. PP Barb announced that the Hospital Foundation invited our club to attend an upcoming event as well. There are several opportunities to represent our club at upcoming events. Please advise President Chris as to which you can attend on behalf of the club.
Thank you Kenny for sharing his experience of running as a candidate.
