Two Hot Richmond City Topics
Rotarian and Richmond City Councillor Chak Au presented two hot topics for our discussion in last weeks meeting. One of the city's challenges has to do with policing and whether to continue on with RCMP or doing what Vancouver, New Westminster, Delta and Port Moody have done....to have a city police force. The city will also be conducting public debate on the question of "monster homes". Chak provided background on both issues and fielded lively questions from the floor. We ran out of time and not everyone had a chance to have their say. These issues will be coming up soon for public forums and Richmond citizens should keep an eye on dates and times for debate so they may have their opinions heard by city council. To members who missed today's meeting, please check with Chak about how you can give your feedback on these two topics.
