For the past twenty-three years of existence\, explorASIAN festival happen ing in the month of May has earned wide recognition for celebrating and br idging together Asian and Canadian communities through arts\, education\, and social advocacy. VAHMS promotes multicultural dialogue and collaborati on. Together we share\, reinforce\, and preserve Asian Heritage in Vancouv er and beyond. Leticia Sanchez\, is President of VAHMS and an independent art exhibitions producer\, curator\, and gallery administrator. Her speci alties include Gallery Operations and Visitor Services Management\, Facili ty Conservation\, Museum Retail Management\, and Art and Exhibitions progr amming and development. Leticia holds a master’s degree in education fro m the Anahuac University in Mexico\, City and is a certified Overseas Te acher of English from Cambridge University via the British Council in Camb ridge. Known for being a proactive leader\, capable of driving creativity and high performance in the fields of education and arts\, Leticia has led and trained teachers and staff since 1992. In her more than ten years ten ure as the Head of Cultural Experience at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Ch inese Garden\, Leticia led the operational organization of the Garden Muse um including Art Programs and Exhibitions. As an independent curator\, Let icia has produced different art and community projects such as “Embracin g Multicultural Languages” in 2015\, “Following the Silk Routes and Be yond in Vancouver”  2016 to 2018\, Leticia acted as an advisor for the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre Exhibits & Programming Advisory Committee at UBC\, is a member of the Canadian Society for Asian Arts and the Chine se Canadian Historical Society. She joined the Vancouver Asian Heritage Mo nth Society Board of Directors in 2015 and was appointed President of the board in 2018.
