Free parking please register at the fro nt desk and mention Rotary.   Starfish Packs What started out in a single Abbotsford school with six weekly backpacks every Friday afternoon for ki ds in need and their families has now grown to nearly 500 students in Chil liwack\, Abbotsford\, Aldergrove\, Langley\, Delta\, Coquitlam\, Vernon an d Duncan receiving weekly backpacks with other communities considering sta rting their own Starfish Packs program.    Starfish Packs was featured i n the national Rotary Canada magazine in 2015.  The program has recognize d by several local and regional awards\, including being named the Most Ou tstanding Community Service Project in Rotary District 5050 at last year ’s District conference.  Bruce Beck  Bruce Beck is a Certified Financi al Planner and a Certified Consultant on Aging.  He owns a financial plan ning practice focused on serving clients who have already retired. He has served numerous terms on the board of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce a nd various other community boards and committees.  He is a ‘recovering politician’ having served six years on Abbotsford City Council. Bruce al so wrote a humour column that appeared weekly in local newspapers in both British Columbia and Ontario for over eight years. Bruce Beck is the curre nt Director of Community Service with the Abbotsford Rotary Club.  A mult iple Paul Harris Fellow\, he has been involved with the creation and growt h of Starfish Packs since its inception in 2013.
