 n Elizabeth II has focused our minds and made us look at our government an
 d how it functions. Of especial note are the many cereonies hwich happen a
 t the end of one reign and the commencement of another. The recent Accessi
 on council and Royal Proclamations brought to mind and memory several thin
 gs. I will examine the age old ceremony and explain its relevance to us to
 day and its importance to both our Constitutional Monarchy and government.
  Shawn M. Wade obtained his BA (1st Class Honours) in History from Simon 
 Fraser University and Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from UBC. Shawn 
 is a dedicated Chief Executive\, Army Officer and Youth Development leader
  with over 3 decades of voluntary community service experience. Shawn is c
 urrently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Commonweal
 th Society\, Mainland of British Columbia Branch (RCS). Shawn’s interest
  in the Commonwealth began at an early age\, and was motivated by his life
 -long interest in history. Shawn is a proud receipient of the 2018 Sovere
 ign’s Medal for Volunter
