We support Gateway Summer Camp
President Henry, Hugo, PP Dean, Harmon, his wife Rosy, sons Dheshaan and Tushaar attended the Gateway Summer Acting Camp presentation at Gilmore Park United Church on Friday July 19, 2019.  Rotary Club of Richmond made the Summer Acting Camp possible by donating $2,000, to engage young children to explore introductory elements of acting.

Children age 8-10 attended the acting camp to practice how to use tools of an actor such as body and voice.  Together in an ensemble, they Immersed themselves for a week in character and story while exploring their creative energy and ideas.

Lots of visiting guests
What a great start to the luncheon, our National Anthem guided by a recording and new words posted on a banner.  Thank you James Kao, for making sure we followed the correct Anthem..... “True patriot love in all of us command” and everyone singing on key.

Our club was honoured by several visitors today…
  • Angelo Boholst, Executive Director of Rotary Hospice House
  • Christina Chang, President of Hanyin Education Group
  • Gary Yang, Commerical Director of XLab Scientific Ltd
  • Joe Peschisolido MP and his assistant Michael Wong
  • Justin Molander and Song Lim, Managing Directors of Trading Post Investments
  • Wayne Connorton, D5040 Assistant Governor

Our Sgt. at Arms Cindy wasted no time in collecting Happy and Sad dollars.  We shared some happy and sad stories, it is always nice to get to know each other a little more each time we get together for lunch. Cindy is happy that Bill is away, James Kao is enrolled in Toastmaster Public Speaking getting ready to be president next year, Daphne is keeping up with her fitness regimen and Joe's story about his dogs and the dog he rescued.

Past President Dean presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a bottle of ice wine to Becky for her steadfast work keeping our website attractive, interesting and current.

After lunch, President Henry opened the official Assembly. We heard the closing reports from the year ending 2018-2019. Then we heard the President's vision for 2019-2020 and reviewed the budget for the year.
