Our guests today were Meena Dawar from Vancouver Coastal Health; Bill and Lucy Lai, guests of President James, Christine Parson, Care Foundation, also Rotarian from Nanaimo, guest of Eva, Bill Lau, husband of Cindy.

 

It was a jam packed agenda covering club announcements, introduction of guests, short presentation by Christine Parsons on Care Foundation, Barbara's report on the Chinese New Year Gala Feb 1st, and election of club officers conducted by PP Chris Browne.  As a result of the election, the following names will be forwarded to Rotary International as the incoming club executive for 2017-2018.  President Elect - Debbie, Secretary - Kenny and Treasurer - Henry.  We also elected Drew as President Nominee for 2018-2019.  The other club directors will be addressed after Debbie attends PETS, and she has a chance to ponder her goals and who she wants on her team.

 

President James presented acknowledgement and gratitude to Lucy Lai for her work on the Goodwill Mission this past summer.  Lucy was part of Daphne's hard working committee that raised close to $90,000 for the Goodwill Mission orphanages in Africa.  President James also showed a poster from the 15 kids from the Boys and Girls Club that went to the Vancouver Giants game in October, tickets sponsored by our club members.  President James was a busy fellow today, he also presented our club banner to visiting Rotarian Christine Parsons from the Rotary Club in Nanaimo.
