Wed May 19th - Zoom at Noon - Facilitated Peace Conversation with Gloria Staudt

Absolute Love Publishing | Success coach, Psychology degree, Intuitive coach
We will have the opportunity to hear from Gloria Staudt, District 5040 Chair, Rotary Peace Fellowship.  This will not be an ordinary meeting, but an interactive session!

We will have a team of trained facilitators leading the discussion who have gone through comprehensive training by Mediators Beyond Borders International.

This is the first of a series of conversations for clubs around the District. The goal is to help clubs address issues within the club and within the community.

While the overall vision is to engage the larger community in the topics most important to them, the first step is to be able to talk about these topics with each other within the club.

One of the facilitators will explain the process and guidelines to the club, then we will use breakout rooms to discuss the topic in small groups, and finally we will all come back together as a large group to summarize what we learned.

Zoom online Meeting 12 noon to 1:30pm (Members and friends, looking forward to see you)

Rotary Foundation Gala
On May 12th, 2021, Richmond Rotarians (Suna, Dean, and Keith) attended the Rotary Foundation Gala!

This was a 60 minute fast-paced event event designed to help the leadership in every one of our 43 Districts in Zones 28 and 32 help promote fundraising for both the Annual Funds and PolioPlus with members.

The event was hosted by Rotary International's first female President, Jennifer Jones, past RI director Jeffrey Cadorette, and featuring distinguished speakers, entertainers and inspiring stories.

The event featured Canadian Rock legend, Rush, and international acclaimed actor, direct and producer, Sam Neill.

There was also a silent auction. Hall-of-Fame guitarist Alex Lifeson donated a custom Gibson "Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess"guitar worth thousands of dollars, and he personally signed it to express his appreciation for the work of Rotarians and our Foundation!

Wednesday Meeting Recap
On Wednesday, May 12th, we heard from Julie Wang of Tiny Planet Digital. She helps business in the Lower Mainland and around the globe with their online marketing needs. As Richmond Rotary contains a number of small business owners, the presentation was informative and very relevant.

She spoke about details around targeting specific audiences, the customer journey, and how to improve sales.

As it relates to Rotary, Julie taught us tips and tricks for how to improve a landing page to increase conversions, which platforms to use to engage potential new members, and how to optimize a page for SEO to increase visits.

Julie delivered an informative and engaging presentation and many members were keenly interested in her advice. If you would like to learn more, or contact Julie, she can be reached at: julie@tinyplanet.digital
