Each One, Bring One Initiative

Rotary International President membership has hovered around 1.2 million for the past two decades. Only with more members and more participants can we serve more and change more lives.

Mehta’s Each One, Bring One initiative asks every member to bring one person to join Rotary, to share the gift of Rotary to one person each. Our vision is to reach 1.3 million by July 1, 2022.

We are opening the front door to welcome new members, we also has to ensure no members are going out of the back door. It is engagement that ensure members to stay.

Wednesday Meeting Recap!
Wednesday, October 20th, 2021 Meeting

At Richmond Rotary's Wednesday Meeting, Rotarians got together to discuss a critical issue - how to retain and attract new members!

In a presentation from Paul Elsley of Rotary Kingston, we heard about how they substantially increased their membership:

  1. Increase Fundraising
  2. Increase Collaboration (New committees such as youth committees, to engage with the community; join local community and municipal organizations).
  3. Expand profile (Articles in local paper; investing in marketing; participating in key community groups).
  4. Increase membership (Aggressive recruitment; seek out new approaches; create retention plan).
Membership strategy is critical if a Rotary club plans to increase membership. So how do you create a membership strategy in the first place? A Rotary club must set annual goals and use focused messaging to target a variety of member types.

On October 24th, World Polio Day, prominent landmarks such as BC Place, and Vancouver City Hall’s clock were lit up in red, thanks to the work of Rotarians in Vancouver. This was to honor World Polio Day.

Rotary has contributed more than $2.8 billion to ending polio since 1985. With it nearly eradicated, Rotary and its partners must sustain the progress and continue to reach every child with the polio vaccine. Rotarians and our partners continue to vaccinate 400 million people every year.
