Feb 23 Rotary 111th Anniversary

On Feb 23, 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide will be celebrating  111 years of coming together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.

Celebrated the year of Monkey

Last week about a dozen of our members joined Rotarians from the Sunset club  to celebrate Chinese New Years . We met at the Top Gun Restaurant in Richmond for a vast  array of delicious courses including ‘finger-licking” and very messy crabs. Those present agreed that since the cost of the meal was such good value they would ‘throw- in’ another $10 each towards polio eradication. $300 was raised, which once matched by the Canadian government and the Bill and Linda Gates Foundation translates to $1200, or, helping close to 1200 children.  A great return for and evening filled with fun, food and good fellowship.
