Supporting Ukraine - You can help

As many as 12 million people may soon require humanitarian assistance in Ukraine. Rotarians are always there when others are in need, and we must step up once again.

Here is how YOU can help:

ShelterBox is responding to the Ukraine crisis and a team is on their way now. (ShelterBox is a Rotary sponsored organization comprised of teams that work with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives).

As official Project Partners in international disaster relief, Rotary and ShelterBox work together to ensure no one is left without shelter after disaster.

Donating to ShelterBox is the best way Rotarians can take immediate action to help families affected by disasters around the world.

To donate, please e-transfer to treasurer@richmondrotary.com and our club will remit one lump sum to ShelterBox.

Rotary in Action - Supporting Ukraine

Here are the other ways Rotary is helping.

There are numerous funds, societies and fundraisers happening to assist the relief efforts in Ukraine. Richmond Rotary is opting to donate to ShelterBox as mentioned previously, and you can donate by e-transfering to treasurer@richmondrotary.com and our club will remit one big lump sum to Shelter Box), but here are two other ways of giving to the Ukrainian relief efforts that are connected to Rotary for your information:

The Rotary Foundation- Disaster Relief Fund: Donations can be made to the Disaster Relief Fund and are eligible for a tax receipt. Disaster Relief funds will be distributed to Districts who apply for grants to provide relief to refugees or other victims of the crisis including items such as water, food, shelter, medicine and clothing. Personal donations will be received until April 30th, 2022.

Disaster Aid Canada: This a Rotary led organization that is connected to Disaster Aid organizations around the world. They have raised funding for BC Wildfires and BC Flood victims/disasters. All funds are distributed to Rotary Clubs on the ground that have first hand knowledge of the needs and demands. Donations are eligible for a tax receipt.
