Welcome Visitors
Great to welcome 5 visitors on Wednesday.  PDG Ken Wilson, District Council of Legislation and Rotarian Terry Miller, past District Treasurer, both invited by Jacqueline.  Vivian Wu is safely back from her travels.  Rotarian Emily Cheng brings greetings from Taiwan and Antina Tseng, Director of Green City Packaging, guest of James Kao.

PE James Kao, filled in admirably again as President Henry still away.  Angelo pitched in wonderfully as Sgt-at-Arms.  It’s always nice to catch up with everyone and the things we are all doing.

We sure miss those of you who could not attend.  Rotary is about getting together to get things done.  If we aren’t getting together, well, the magic doesn’t happen.  We can’t collaborate without you.

Hope we see you this week. By the way, we all enjoyed a hearty lunch with hot soup and beef on a bun, great job Hilton.

Rotary Councils
Rotary Councils give us a voice in how our organization is governed. Each district chooses a representative for a three-year term, they represent their districts at the annual Council on Resolutions meetings and at the Council on Legislation during their term.

The Council on Resolutions meets online every year to vote on proposed resolutions. Resolutions are requests to the Board or the Trustees to take an action that is outside the purview of the constitutional documents.

Every three years, representatives from Rotary districts around the world meet at the Council on Legislation in Chicago, Illinois, USA, to review and vote on proposed changes to the constitutional documents that govern Rotary International. 2019 Council considered more than 100 proposals.

Some important highlights of 2019 Council on Legislation were elevated the status of Rotaract clubs; pursue changing RI’s charitable status; approved a modest increase of $1 a year for each of three years, beginning in 2020-21. Detail.....
