Nick Jordan is the owner of Creative Embroidery and member of the Rotary Club of New West – Royal City. Founded in 1984, Richmond-based Creative Embroidery has expanded from embroidered and screen printed clothing to a wide range of promotional product areas. The company supplies universities, colleges, the RCMP, Pepsi and many other companies. And most importantly, Creative Embroidery is an officially licensed Rotary supplier. There are only a handful of official Rotary International licensed vendors worldwide. To become a licensed vendor, a company must submit a request to RI. Rotarians can order a wide assortment of high-quality Rotary-branded merchandise from those vendors. And right here in Richmond, as an official vendor, you can buy official Rotary gear from Creative Embroidery, And we got to see some of the goods last week. Nick and Creative Embroidery regularly donate official Rotary apparel to Rotary Club of Richmond events, including jackets and vests valued at over $100. And Creative Embroidery even made special masks during the pandemic after presenting Dr. Bonnie Henry with a Paul Harris award. Did you know the official Rotary gear from the Imagine Rotary Canada Tour came from Creative Embroidery? Creative Embroidery has a line of Rotary Leadership Institute Shirts. At our wednesday meeting, we were excited to receive our new Owl Conferencing systems! The latest in high tech, Owl conferencing systems allow for seamless audio and visual communication for a better Zoom and digital experience. As we operate in a hybrid environment, we need the latest in high tech. This was made possible due to the initiative of Jimmy Yan and and Dean Hsieh working. The Rotary Richmond Foundation took the lead on this project and applied for funding on behalf of six clubs in Richmond and Delta. This funding comes from the federal government's $400 million Community Services Recovery Fund, administered across Canada in part through Community Foundations of Canada, in which the Richmond Community Foundation is a member. Rotary clubs in Richmond and Delta will each receive two Owl systems. Here is our very own Dean Hsieh presenting an Owl to Richmond Sunrise. We look forward to to moving ahead with this exciting piece of technology. And last but not least, we celebrated Elizabeth's Birthday. Happy Birthday to our dedicated Rotarian, Elizabeth! Elizabeth only joined in 2020 and is already an integral part of the club.
