On Wednesday July 19, members enjoyed a presentation by Sarah Drewery, Executive Director of the Richmond Sharing Farm Society. This 20 acre farm is located on Westminster Highway at Terra Nova Park. The farm provides fresh vegetables to the Food Bank as well as other Richmond based community organizations that provide meals to those in need (ie St Albans church). About 1,000 volunteers work at the farm alongside staff in the field and in the greenhouses. The farm generates revenue through sponsorships, corporate team building farming, selling produce to restaurants and the Harvest Basket project, where individuals can purchase baskets of fresh produce each week.
