Make-up Meetings in Taiwan
President James had the opportunity to visit Rotary club Tsintien in Taiwan. The club welcomed him with singing songs in English. There was the traditional exchange of club banners. Lunch was delicious.

It is highly recommended if you cannot meet at your own club, you can make up by attending other clubs in person or online. This will fulfill your attendance record, and you will have the opportunity to expand your network and meet new people. Rotary Clubs Worldwide Finder…

Mamas For Mamas
On January 6th, 2021, the Rotary Club of Richmond B.C. heard from Anna Carr of Mamas for Mamas, a non-profit set up to offer immediate help to mothers in crisis. Anna is the Branch Coordinator for the organization.

Mamas for Mamas was founded in 2014 to provide front-line poverty relief for low-income families.  Operating through digital and physical branches, Mamas offer all kinds of support to women and children in need.

At their branches, Mamas and their children can access a free store with clothing, shoes, furniture, and other items. The branches also offer support, resources and a safe space for Mamas to visit to navigate any challenges they may be facing. The goal at Mamas is to provide a space where mamas and the children can feel safe, comfortable and welcomed when they come for poverty relief support.

The organization operates through donations, and the Vancouver chapter has five drop-off locations in Langley, Richmond, Surrey, South Delta and North Delta. Mamas can also connect digitally to access goods and services from the drop off locations if they are not near a physical branch.

Mamas for Mamas’ newest physical location is in Richmond (Ironwood), opened in September 2020. The Richmond location is also its first Vancouver-area hub.

Mamas for Mamas is working overtime during COVID-19 to meet the needs of those in need. As such, they are keenly looking for partnerships, opportunities, and collaboration with other organizations.  Some chapters have already collaborated with other Rotary Clubs, and Mamas for Mamas in Richmond has already started working with other Richmond organizations.

If you are looking to donate, or have partnership opportunities, please contact a local Mamas for Mamas chapter. Anna Carr can also be reached at anna@mamasformamas.ca
