Mid-Autumn Festival Charity Dinner
On Friday, September 10th, 2021, Richmond Rotary held it's Mid-Autumn Festival Charity Dinner!

The Mid-Autumn Charity Dinner was Rotary's first Dinner event since the Pandemic.

The dinner raised money for Rotary International's End Polio Campaign, and it was a great opportunity to get everyone together again. Rotary has a world renowned reputation for saving children from Polio, and last week's event was another wonderful contribution to the campaign.

The day featured a Mahjong contest and a finished off with 10 course meal. Richmond Rotary also raised money selling Mooncakes in the weeks prior.

The evening finished off with Karaoke!

And Richmond Rotary was very fortunate to have a number of dignitaries such as Mayor Malcolm Brodie, Member of Parliament Alice Wong and Councilor Chak Au.

Grateful to receive introductory and opening remarks from Mayor Malcolm Brodie!

International Day of Peace
Rotary International is calling on Rotarians to observe this year's International Day of Peace Sep. 21 by empowering girls around the world. Girls and women worldwide are faced with immense inequities in areas including health and education, and experience significant violence and disproportionate poverty.

One of Rotary International President Mehta's Presidential Initiatives is "Empowering Girls", he wants members to focus their efforts on empowering girls and ensuring their access to education, resources, services, and opportunities so that future generations of women leaders will have the tools they need to succeed. Mehta is asking members to use Rotary's belief that diversity, equity, and inclusion is critical in all we do as a compass to guide this work.

May be an image of 6 people and text that says '00g Rotary CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE AND SUPPORT GIRL EMPOWERMENT!'
