It was our pleasure to hear updates from Douglas Dunn, Executive Director, SOS Children's Village BC. He brought us news of exciting expansion of foster care facilities and partnerships that will increase the number of foster homes. Also joining us today, Shelina Jamani, Administration and Finance Assistant and Lois and Gilles Bouchard, who founded SOS Children's Village in BC. Rotary Club of Richmond, President Dean Hsieh, presented a cheque for $2,000, a portion of the funds raised at our Chinese New Year Dinner held earlier this year. This was a particularly happy day, as we are able to provide some support to our Community, and in an area of need that is not fully appreciated by Government or the public in general. Sergeant at Arms, James was in fine form again, digging deep into our pockets and extracting happy and sad stories from all our members. For those members who do not regularly attend lunch, please note next meeting is at Rotary Hospice House. Newer members, especially, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the signature 2.5 million dollar project of the Rotary Club of Richmond.
