Happy Belated Birthday to Two Past Presidents
Happy Belated Birthday to James Kao and Keith Tsukishima.

James Kao and Keith Tsukimshima recently celebrated their birthdays.

These are two long time Rotarians who have donated countless hours to Rotary.  They have also achieved success in their family, careers, and community service!

James moved to Canada from Taiwan in 1997.  Working his way up in business and sales in Vancouver, he eventually founded his own company - You Need Massage Chair. James' massage chair company is now the largest massage chair chain in North America.

Being a Rotarian carries special significance in Taiwan, and James always wanted to fulfill his dream of joining a Rotary Club.  In 2015, James joined the Rotary Club of Richmond, and served as President in 2020.

James is also active in Richmond's Taiwanese community, previously Chairing the BC Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce.  James regularly visits Taipei, even attending local Rotary events there!

Keith Tsukishima was born and raised in Alberta.  After finishing university in the 1970s, Keith embarked on a successful career in Hospitality and Hotel Management working as a General Manager for several large hotels.  After retiring, Keith began consulting in the hospitality industry.

Keith has been a Rotarian for 36 years, joining Rotary in 1987 in Winnipeg.  After moving to BC in 1997, he joined the Rotary Club of Richmond.  Keith has served in several roles including club president three times.

Keith is a long time and active community volunteer, previously serving as President of the Burnaby and Richmond Chamber's of Commerce, Tourism Richmond, and several Hospitality Associations in BC and Alberta.  As an integral part of the hospitality industry in Richmond, Keith also chaired Richmond's Economic Advisory Committee.

Richmond Rotary Club Day at the Races

On July 22nd, 2023, the Rotary Club of Richmond attended the Deighton Cup.

The Deighton Cup is a fancy summer event featuring horse races, live music, art displays and more at Vancouver’s Hastings Racecourse in July every year.

To accommodate Rotary members' busy schedules, we now host a monthly evening or weekend Social - a fun get together outside of normal meeting hours.

A special thank you to Yuhan Chen for spearheading this important initiative and consistently getting Rotarians together for festive and social engagements.

If you miss a weekly lunch meeting, or are looking for opportunities to build friendships watch out for next Rotary Social event.
