AC provides free legal assistance to British Columbians who require help complete legal forms, or prepare for their virtual appearances. AC’s services are provided on the principle of equal access to justice regardless of your means.

The Legal Forms Workshops, known as Amici Curiae (Friends of the Courts) are the brainchild of Dom. Paralegals donate their time as volunteers to help clients with the forms; and at each workshop, a lawyer, also a volunteer, oversees the work done by the paralegals. They do not provide any legal advice.

The six in-person workshops have been suspended during the pandemic, two of the workshops are now open, last Thursday of the month in Carnegie Community Centre on the Downtown Eastside, 2nd Wednesday of the month in CHIMO, Richmond. You can request a Virtual appointment here

Check out their youtube channel for the Everyday Law Series. The Bubble Tea Gang is working on translating the videos into different languages. Other useful resources can be found at https://www.legalformsbc.ca/useful-materials.html#/  AC is hard at work to translate their own internal forms in different languages. They believe multi-lingual legal information increase diversity, equity and inclusion.
