Today was the official visit from the District Governor, Darcy Long. She was accompanied by husband Doug and Assistant Governor Wayne Connorton. Always nice to receive the District Governor, they bring Rotary and District updates and always share informative and inspirational messages. She shared her story, wanting to give something back to the community and to do good things for others. It's the same seeds that motivate all of us. She was most enthusiastic about the efforts of Rotarians throughout the District, and of the projects and goals of President Dean.
Then she did something quite different. She produced a deck of random image and message cards. We all drew a card that "spoke" to us. We all had opportunity to share our chosen card with the group, and to connect the card's image to how we embrace Rotary.
Today we also conducted our election for President-Elect, Treasurer and Secretary for 2019-2020. The incoming Club Officers will be Henry Lee, President Elect, Jacqueline Ho, Treasurer and Jimmy Yang, Secretary.
Our visitors were Michael Chiu, President RC Richmond Sunset, Scott Campbell from RC Steveston and Jackson Chan, guest of Bill and Cindy Lau.
