Very nice to see Ladner Rotarians Ken and Linda Whitney as well as Steveston Rotarian Bill McEwen. Ken was President of our club when we celebrated our 50th anniversary with a Military Gala Fundraising Dinner at the RiverRock. Thanks Ken and Linda for visiting us today. Bill McEwen, President of the Rotary Club of Steveston attended to accept our cheque for Bahamas Hurricane Relief. His club initiated a Walk at Garry Point Park to raise awareness and funds for Hurricane victims in the Bahamas. We participated as part of a four club joint effort.
Sgt. at Arms Cindy did well again today, collecting happy and sad dollars from a little larger attendance of 19 members. We were very happy to see some members that aren't able to attend too often. Our regular lunch was adjourned early in order to call to order our Annual General Meeting for the Rotary Richmond Foundation, the charitable entity of our Club. There being a quorum present, we were able to achieve the needed agenda and set the stage to move forward with fundraising abilities.
