2024 Rotary Club of Richmond President's Ball
On June 23rd, 2024, the Rotary Club of Richmond held its 63rd President's Ball.
The President's Ball is an annual tradition where we induct our new Board and President.
June 2024 marked the end of Jacqueline Ho's term as President. Jacqueline joined the Rotary Club of Richmond seven years ago, serving in several different roles. Using her professional accounting background, she served as treasurer and successfully managed the Club's funds.
Her term as President oversaw several new members, increased member engagement, and record fundraising for the club and our partners that we support. This was an exciting year to be a Rotarian, and it wouldn't have been possible without Jacqueline's hard at work and dedication. With exciting events, successful projects for seniors, low-income Richmondites, and much more, Richmond and the Rotary Club of Richmond were well served by her term!
Every week, Jacqueline and the team were out delivering Cheques and donations to our partners from money raised at our events.
Some highlights of a successful year.
Jacqueline passed the torch to our new president, Hugo Li!
Hugo joined our club in 2019 and has served in many different roles. From being a Strata Council president, to an IT solutions expert professionally, Hugo brings a wealth of experience. And we have no doubt this will be a phenomenal year under Hugo.
And it was an extra special evening to have District Governor Shirley Pat Chamberlain on hand to induct Hugo as new President.
After his induction - Hugo wore the traditional lab coat.
Hospital Lab Coat are a Richmond Rotary tradition that the Past President passes on to the incoming President. The Lab coat is an acknowledgement of Richmond Rotary's long history of support for Richmond Hospital.
Hugo Li delivered a wonderful speech, outlining his plans for the next year. He committed to growing the membership, and expanding to new communities who may not know about Rotary.
We also thanked our outgoing Board of Directors, and introduced our incoming board.
