You missed a lot at Rotary yesterday!  Four visiting Rotarians from Rotary Club of Huauchinango, Puebla, Mexico joined our Wed luncheon - Club President Clara Lilia Escorza González, her daughter Claudia Lilia Marquez Escorza, Richard Boulier and Irving Vargas Ramirez.  Their Club has been serving the community for more than 70 years, in a small city 2.5 hours north of Mexico City.  They spoke passionate about their two projects, one to help handicapped people and the other to form a cloud based education model.  President Dean presented President Clara with our club banner and in return, he received an artful piece of local handicraft, made by hand by local citizens.

We also had visiting Rotarians Grace Tsang and Rod Beleza from Rotary Club Richmond Sunset and Susan Ness from Rotary Club Richmond Sunrise.  What happened, you ask?  Well, in a word.....FELLOWSHIP.  What connects us all is the need to do something for our communities. We experienced the synergy of people working on solving world problems together, although they live and work far apart from each other. That is the Essence of Rotary.

What else did you miss?  Sgt-at-Arms Harry was in his prime, reaching into our jeans for all our loose change.  Past President James generously updated the famous Thunder Mug with names of recent Club Presidents and passed on to President Dean for safekeeping.

President Dean also accepted a cheque from Susan Ness, who took some of the purses donated by Paul Hui from Chinese New Year dinner, and sold them for a little fundraising.  Her efforts are much appreciated and we are grateful for her visit today.
