Rotary Climate Action & Starfish Pack - Shawn Gold

It is an honour to invite the Club president of Rotary Club of North Delta, Shawn Gold, to do a presentation about his club's signature project. In Shawn's presentation, he will share his club's experience in areas such as organization and coordination with the school board, community awareness, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, etc. Also Shawn will provide the success stories of RC of North Delta's projects and fundraising activities.

Here is a brief bio of the fellow Rotarian, Shawn Gold.

Shawn is a retired national service manager with Honeywell International and has been an active member of Toastmasters International for 12 years. In 2018-2019 Shawn served as Toastmasters District 21 Director and continues to serve as a club officer and competes in Toastmasters Speech Contests.

Two years ago, Shawn joined Rotary due to the Rotary / Toastmaster alliance, and because of Rotary's new environmental area of focus. Shawn then joined the Rotary Climate Action Team and took the 2 week plant based diet challenge that completely changed his life.  He is now a climatarian (only eating foods that are good for the environment).  He also kicked off a project partnership between the Rotary Club of North Delta and the City of Delta to build an environmental garden under a BC Hydro right of way.  In addition, Shawn is active in the club's Starfish Pack Program, and is a 3 time Paul Harris Fellow, the Immediate Past Co-President and now the President of Rotary Club of North Delta.

Shawn is married (43 years), the father of 3 and grandfather of 4. He is also the president of his strata council and active in the Delta Photo Club.
