Dragon Dancing by Ken Low
Ken Low has been involved in community services in the Greater Vancouver area for more than four decades. Born in Hong Kong, he worked as a professional engineer for the City of White Rock and City of Vancouver until his retirement in 2010.
For the past 39 years, Ken and has been hosting the “Can-Am International Martial Arts Championships” annually in the Greater Vancouver area. This event brings thousands of athletes and coaches from across North America each year to Greater Vancouver. This event helped promote the sport, health, and fitness.
During this time period, Ken also served as Chairman of the Chinese Freemason Senior Housing Society, President of the Vancouver Metropolitan Lions Club, Secretary General of the Chinese Community Policing Centre, Instructor of the Vancouver Police Department Lion Dancing Team, etc.
Low is also an influential figure in martial arts in Canada. He founded the Western Canadian Chinese Martial Arts Association and Wushu (Chinese Martial Arts) BC. He is the current President of the Canada International Health Qigong Association and the Canada Sport Sanshou Federation.
Ken lives in Vancouver with his family and is the Candidate for City Council.
