"An Engineer’s Public-spirited Path" by Jeff Jiang

Jeff Jiang, President of JPC Services Inc. Founder and Founding president of Chinese Construction & Renovation Association of Canada (CCRAC).

Jeff graduated from Shanghai University as a mechanical engineer. He started his career in the renovation industry after immigrating to Canada in 2000. JPC Services was founded in 2006.  With their mission to pursue quality and responsibility, JPC was soon selected by major companies like Best Buy, Staples, Superstore, The Source, Vancouver School Board and YVR.

Jeff has a devotion to social responsibility. His company helped over 20 European immigrant technicians integrate and start careers in BC. He also offered opportunity for people with past criminal records to start a new life. For the local community, he solved tricky problems for many strata which even big engineering firms failed to accomplish.  He chaired and co-chaired charity events engaged in activities and fundraising for homeless, people with disability and cancer.

Due to an industry scandal, he founded Chinese Construction & Renovation Association of Canada (CCRAC). In April, 2014, a news report was spread in Chinese community. A young student paid a renovation company $46,000 deposit for her condo renovation. But several months later she found this company had disappeared with her money. They left unfinished work and garbage in her suite. When Jeff read this news, he thought he needed to do something to prevent this kind of thing happening to others. He called on 8 companies to voluntarily help this victim finish renovation for free. He believed their charity action would inspire the Chinese renovation industry to do business right. Later, in July 2014, with these 8 partners, CCRAC was founded. The purpose of CCRAC is to self-regulate Chinese construction and renovation industry; offering guidance, promote business and help startup technicians. CCRAC now has over 100 members.
