Community

“I am a lifelong resident of Richmond and have lived in the same neighbourhood my entire life. I strongly believe that a strong community is built by the people who give back to it. That belief has guided my commitment to community service for more than three decades.”

“For 30 years, I served my community as a frontline shelter worker with The Salvation Army, helping operate a homeless shelter and supporting some of our community's most vulnerable residents.”

“In addition, I volunteered for seven years as a community sports coach, helping young athletes develop skills, confidence, and teamwork.”

“I also dedicated five years of volunteer service to the Richmond Hospital Healthcare Auxiliary, contributing to programs and initiatives that support healthcare in our community.”

“Today, I continue my commitment to community service as a board member of the Steveston Thrift Shop Society. At the request of the Board, I also serve as Manager of the Steveston Thrift Shop, where I work alongside volunteers, donors, and community members to support local charitable and community initiatives.”

“Giving back to Richmond has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life, and I remain committed to helping make our community a stronger, more caring, and more connected place for everyone.”

Why did he join Rotary

"I have heard great things about the Rotary Club. I wanted to discover a new organization that would allow me to branch out in different ways to give back to my community and the people who live here.

I have been a lifelong resident of Richmond. In fact, I've lived in the same neighbourhood my entire life. I am a big believer that a strong community is built on what you give back to your community".

Welcome, Rajan, for joining our Club!
