Compelling topic of discussion today, presented by our speaker, Chad McGillivary. Chad started GetMyKit over two years ago after trying to purchase an emergency preparedness kit for his family and finding nothing in stores.

Are we really prepared for disaster.....really?  Can we get by for 2-3 days without food, water, shelter, communication, heat, light....with just the clothes on our back?  The concept of a disaster occurring like an earthquake or major forest fire or tsunami.....any sort of major incident makes one pause to really think.  If forced out of our homes, if no shelter available and the world around us was in turmoil, what would you do?  Think about the images of the Tsunami in Japan a few years ago.....life as one knows it, does not exist any longer.  We need to be ready, and the information and kits introduced by Chad is an important step.  He strongly urges us to discuss this topic with family members and have a plan ready, and be ready.
