Another tragedy has struck. This time with severe flooding in Pakistan.
Severe flooding has struck Pakistan, leaving one third of Pakistan under water and uprooting millions of lives. This is one of the worst climate induced disasters Pakistan has ever faced after record torrential rainfall and melting glaciers in the country's northern mountains caused devastating floods. Rainfall is nearly three times higher than average.
This never before seen flooding has forced millions to leave their homes, destroyed crops, infrastructure, and impacted clean drinking water. 150 bridges and other critical infrastructure has been destroyed, stranding millions of people.
Relief efforts in Pakistan are struggling to keep up with demand, with only 250,000 people in shelters of the 33 million who are impacted. More than 1100 people have lost their lives already.
