Rotary Club of Richmond celebrated Christmas in grand style with sumptuous turkey and salmon buffet, Christmas carols, gift exchange and a lively auction. Not be lost in the revelry, Ed Gavsie from Richmond Cares Richmond Gives attended as our guest to receive our club's 2019 contribution to the Richmond Christmas Fund. Our club has been supporting this effort for more than 35 years and it has become an annual tradition to help needy families in Richmond.
A big bow goes to James Kao for the festive decorations and his tremendous effort to have the room festively adorned for our evening of yuletide celebration. His efforts even went so far as to provide a festive blazer for President Henry. Another big bow goes to event organizer and Emcc Dave Rogers for entertainment arrangements. His mystery picture challenge, baffled everyone except the winner, Robert Lu, who won a bottle of wine.

Guests all get into some Holiday spirit singing Christmas carols led by Dave, Antonio, Jimmy, Kenny Hugo and Anita. Then we enjoyed the popular gift exchange, with of course, our little twist of procedure.....those whose name is drawn, may take a previous gift selection. Great fun, as gifts may be expropriated up to 3 times. Dave added a gift auction to the event this year, mystery gifts were auctioned off. Purchasers were totally unaware of the contents of the wrappings until bidding had stopped and buyer declared. Great fun had by all with thanks to all those who attended. Best wishes to those who were out of country or were under the weather.
Next meeting is Dec 18th and last meeting of 2019.
Remember our Lunar New Year Dinner is Jan 18th.....we are counting on every club member to sell tickets and make every effort to attend to support our biggest event of the year.
