2025 President's Ball
On May 24, 2025, members of the Rotary Club of Richmond proudly attended the End Polio Now awareness event held at Aberdeen Center. Organized by the Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset, the event brought together local clubs, community members, and volunteers in a shared mission to help eradicate polio worldwide.
On May 21, 2025, the Rotary Club of Richmond proudly presented a $5,000 donation to the Minoru Senior Society. The funds were raised during the club’s successful Lunar New Year Gala earlier this year, with proceeds supporting programs that benefit low-income and isolated seniors in the Richmond community.
In response to the tragic car attack on Lapu-Lapu Street in Vancouver on April 26, 2025, which left multiple victims injured and caused deep grief in the Filipino-Canadian community, members of the Rotary Club of Richmond have stepped forward to offer support and solidarity.
Grace Tsang and Jason Tam, members of Richmond Sunset Club, recently returned from a Rotary Friendship Exchange trip to Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. During their journey, they engaged with local Rotary clubs, shared fellowship, and built meaningful cross-cultural connections. Their visit not only strengthened international Rotary ties but also enriched our club with new perspectives and stories.
On May 3, 2025, the President of the Rotary Club of Richmond attended the official reopening of the Lytton Chinese History Museum, a significant milestone in the preservation of Chinese Canadian heritage. The original museum was tragically destroyed in the devastating wildfire that swept through Lytton in 2021.
The Rotary Club of Richmond is pleased to announce a recent donation of $5,000 to the Richmond Hospice House, reinforcing its longstanding commitment to compassionate community care. On hand to receive the donation were Suzie Farrell, Executive Director of Grace Health Services of the Salvation Army, and Bal Bains, Director of Care at Richmond Hospice House.
The Rotary Club of Richmond was deeply saddened to learn that one of our cherished members experienced the sudden loss of his beloved daughter earlier this week. In this difficult time, the club extended our heartfelt condolences and rallied together to offer support.
On March 26, 2025, the Rotary Club of Richmond had the pleasure of welcoming Assistant Governor Peter Roaf for a special "Rotary 101" training session.
At our March 19 lunch meeting, the Rotary Club of Richmond was honoured to welcome Carolyn Ferguson, Senior Major Gifts Officer at The Rotary Foundation, and Carol Tichelman, Endowment Major Gifts Adviser, PDG of District 5050 and a member of the Rotary Club of Chilliwack.
On March 15, 2025, the Rotary Club of Richmond hosted a warm and lively fellowship event featuring Mahjong and hotpot — a perfect combination of fun, tradition, and Rotary camaraderie.
